Dog Sitting Rates

What's included in a dog sit?
During a dog sit, your dog receives quality play and walk time, rest, petting and water bowl refreshing. 30 and 60 min visits are available.

Current rate: $25 for half an hour, $40 for an hour

Need more than 1hr? Get discounted rates.
Hourly pet nanny service for up to 4 hours is available on request. Each hour of visit costs $28.

In-Home Overnight Care
George’s offers overnight care for a minimum 12-hour stay at your home. This service includes evening walk and meal, sleepover, morning feed and walk. The cost is $85.

Add an additional $10 for second dog in the same house.

Question: Why should I choose George's?

Answer:  You should choose George’s Dog Sitting Services because your pooch will be treated respectfully and receive the highest level of care from me, not some random person that you or your pet do not know. 

Question: How many dogs do you usually watch at a time?

AnswerSince I value quality over quantity, the maximum number of dogs that I will watch during a visit is two.

Question: How will I receive communication about a visit?

Answer: You have two options: an update either via text message or a handwritten note detailing the visit. When you book a service, please let me know your preference.

Question: What happens in the event of an emergency (illness or inclement weather)?

AnswerIn the event of illness, you will be notified that the appointment has to be canceled and refunded your deposit.

If the weather is unsafe (extreme heat or cold, blizzards, snow or ice storms etc.) and it’s not possible to sit with your dog, your appointment will be rescheduled for another date that’s convenient for you.  

Question: Are you certified in pet first aid?

AnswerNo, I am not currently certified in pet first aid. However, if your pet becomes sick, you will be contacted immediately and then your designated vet.

Question: Are you licensed, insured, and bonded?

AnswerI  am licensed in the county of Ulster, New York and insured by Pet Sitters Association, LLC.

Question: Do you work on National holidays?

AnswerYes I do! If you would like to book appointments on these days, please do so as early as possible. There will be an additional $10 surcharge for services provided on the holidays listed below:

  • Memorial Day

  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Year's Eve
Question: Are there any additional charges if I need to cancel or add a visit?

AnswerI understand that schedules sometimes change. However, since my days are planned around booked appointments, I would appreciate the following:

1) that cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund. Please note that there will be no refund of the deposit made for appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance.

2) In the event that you would like to reschedule an appointment, I request that you do so at least 24 hours in advance. Rescheduling an appointment the day it was to occur, will be treated as a cancellation and your deposit will not be refunded or applied to a future service.

Question: What forms of payment do you accept?

AnswerI currently accept checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).

Please note that if you pay by check and the check doesn’t clear due to insufficient funds, you will incur an additional fee of $50.

If you are paying for services by credit card, there will be an additional fee of $2 to cover the card processing fees .

Question: When is payment for services due?

AnswerPayment is due when services are rendered.

Question: How can I get started with your services?

AnswerYou should schedule a complimentary consultation. This half hour meeting will be done in your home with you and your pooch. During our session, we will discuss your needs for a dog sitter, your pet’s needs, likes and dislikes etc.

If you decide that George’s services are right for you and your pet, I will provide a service agreement for your review and signature. Please note that prior to the start of services, you will have to provide me with a copy of your house key.
